Flying Heart Productions is a performance company specializing in contemporary clown theatre. The "Flying Heart" represents the clowns generosity of spirit coupled with an unfettered imagination bereft of reason. Clown theatre can be simultaneously profound and irreverent, moving and frivolous and it stands tall as one of the pillars of modern theatre.
Flying Heart aims to bring clown theatre into the foreground of the Australian performing arts landscape through the creation of new works, facilitation of workshops and the production of master classes and performance tours of national and international clown theatre makers.
Flying Heart aims to uphold the integrity of this art form through ongoing development and research and to generate its evolution via collaboration with other forms so it can reinvent itself. Employing movement, puppetry, music and circus to contribute to and inform our process we aim to articulate the human experience through the clowns sensitive and irreverent perspective.
